  1. How do you figure that Rio de Janeiro is an underrated destination? Practically every travel article about Brazil out there either starts or finishes with this city. It's one of the most popular travel destinations in Brazil – if not the World!

    1. Thanks for your comment Ray. Yes, it’s a very popular travel destination, but due to high crime rates, a lot of travelers still prefer not to go there. That’s what makes Rio de Janeiro underrated in our list.
      However, if you travel with caution you will be safe even in places which don’t have a good reputation.
